Andrew Lockett is to join Duckworth as publishing director in September.
Lockett was most recently publisher of reference and custom publishing for Rough Guides and, before that, head of publishing for the British Film Institute. He also had prior stints as an editor at Oxford University Press and Routledge.
Duckworth publisher Peter Mayer said Lockett would be "a strong asset to the Duckworth team" because of an all-round background including sales, marketing, publicity and editorial experience.
Lockett, who joins Duckworth on 9th September, will work with colleagues on an author list that includes Edward Albee, Peter Bradshaw, Iain Hollinsghead and John Spurling.
